Ci-gît

Ci-gît is old French meaning, here lies. It can be found on grave markers and it is these stones that provide the vocabulary for the text pieces I produce. Words are selected and rubbings made to form short compositions. Texts are produced during each of my visits to a cemetery and read aloud before my departure. This selection is from one stone found at the Toronto Necropolis.
